Oldboy (2013)

A man (Josh Brolin) is held in confinement against his will for an unknown reason in Spike Lee’s adaptation of a Korean comic book and subsequent film. Suddenly, after 20 years, he is released and filled with vengeance as he tries to find the men who locked him away. I am looking at the poster for John Carpenter’s “The Ward” and it has a quote from a critic that says “Carpenter proves he is still the master of shock.” That is clearly a statement taken out of context because the next sentence must be something like, “This movie is so bad it is shocking Carpenter could be involved.”
